Looking for Great Cigars

One of the most iconic items for the alpha male is the cigar. One of the reasons for the popularity of cigars may be the mystique associated with famous actors known for never being without one in hand. The average cigar does not seem all that glamorous when unlit, but put it in someone's hand and it immediately becomes something else.

It is easy to make the error of considering the use of cigars an insignificant vice. Enthusiasts understand the value of a great roll, though. Cigar users from all walks of life hold their cigars at the ready, wherever they go.

For these characters, an opportunity to have a cigar with someone else is one of genuine moment. They share cigar jokes and talk about different topics surrounding their favorite habit and dose tobacco. Cigar smokers love to have conversations about their favorite makers.

The most popular puffs are grown and imported from Brazil, Cameroon and Cuba. Many warm-climate countries produce fantastic leaves of tobacco, like Nicaragua. It is worth noting that import restrictions on cigars are fairly lax, especially compared to those on cigarettes.

You can find cigars sold in just about every place in the US now. The expensive ones are sold in specialized establishments such as tobacconists and cigar bars. The true aficionados get their premium sticks from well-established cigar chains such as United Cigar Stores, A&P and Woolworth.

The top producer of cigars is currently said to be Altadis, which puts out genuinely valuable products. Altadis’s biggest markets are those in the United States, the Dominican Republic, and Honduras. Cigars are not all the brand makes.

Swedish Match, second only to Altadis in terms of size, is one more influential brand. The US is only one of the countries in which Swedish Match has a presence. Swedish Match's other products are more or less related to cigar and cigarette usage too.

Then there are the famous offerings from the Fuente Family. With a hundred years of experience behind it, this particular brand's most famous offerings are the Montesino and Arturo Fuente. One of the greatest products to come from the Dominican Republic comes from the Fuentes: the Fuente Fuente OpusX.

Perhaps the most well-known cigar brand from Latin America is that of the León Family. They have spent more than a hundred years of working in the cigar industry. They are the makers of the León Jimenes, one of their most respected cigars.

Too many people use cigars for them to go away any time soon. Cigars are currently understood to be fairly expensive items now. There can be a certain mystique too to the idea of smoking the same cigars your idols did, for so many admirable personalities in history were cigar smokers.
